NORLHA ASSOCIATION FOR AID TO TIBETANS

Norlha Association for Aid to Tibetans is a non-religious, apolitical, non-profit NGO based in Switzerland*, bringing development aid to various projects in the Tibetan areas of China and in Nepal, in cooperation with local partners.

Among the projects which Norlha Association sets up are those that :

promote basic education

support primary health services

promote cultural conservation, employment creation and capacity building
grant specific help for hospitalization, treatments, surgical intervention or medical expenses
sensitize and inform the general public in Europe about relevant issues, by the diffusion of information and films, and by organizing cultural events.

“Norlha” is a Tibetan word which litterally means “goddess of wealth"; it is generally called upon to bring better conditions when vital resources are missing and people and animals are tormented by famine or any other material suffering. It puts an end to need, hunger, thirst and fulfills the wishes of all beings.

Financed by individual and institutional donations, the purpose of Norlha Association is to help all Tibetan people in need, by promoting their basic education, health services, environmental projects and capacity building, in a sustainable and respectful perspective.

* Norlha now has a branch Foundation in the Netherlands, and other support groups are being set up in France and the USA.
