OUR PROJECTS

EDUCATION

School in Tsebum | Tibet
The valley of Tsebum is located at an altitude of more than 4000 meters. The nomadic children of the region do not have access to education. In 2007, Norlha has constructed housing facilities that accommodate 48 children in proximity of the school. That way, they are able to attend the classes.

Norlha also works on the improvement of the teacher's pedagocical skills and of the quality of the teaching material, as well as on the establishment and enhancement of health facilities.

School in Kabshi | Tibet
Kabshi is located in one of the most remote valley in the Kham region. The support of Norlha since 2006 contributed to improve the quality of the meals served each day to more than 100 students. Furthermore it helped to enhance the professional skills of the teachers, to raise their salaries and thereby their commitment.

Education in exile | Nepal
Nepal is among the poorest countries in the world. The situation for the exile families from Tibet is even worse. Education for young Tibetans is often not affordable. However, education is essential for the future of the families that live in exile. Our aid focuses on families in which the father is missing and the mother has to carry the burden for the education of her children alone. Norlha arranges sponsorships for the benefit of the semi-orphans.
